Here at Anderson Propane Service, we are very animal friendly. If you stop by our office, there is a pretty good chance you might see a dog wandering around here, or even a pig! None of our employees miss work if they cannot find someone to help take care of their animals, they just bring them into work for the day! A couple of employees here recently took a trip to the Fredericksburg SPCA to donate some goodies for the animals that are waiting for their forever home.
Pictured below is our very own Philip Gouldman and Janet Hahn, and the Fredericksburg SPCA’s newest Volunteer Coordinator, Alison Carlin!
Alison gave Janet a tour of the facility. She got to meet all of the sweet, loving dogs and cats that are patiently waiting to find a home. Janet is a big animal lover, so naturally, she wished she could take all of them home with her!
On behalf of all of us here at Anderson Propane, we want to thank the Fredericksburg SPCA for allowing us to stop by. More importantly, we are grateful for everything they do to help all of the precious dogs and cats get the love they deserve and find their forever home. We hope to make a visit again very soon!
Anderson Propane’s Adoption Stories
A couple of the employees here at Anderson Propane have adopted their pets from the Fredericksburg SPCA. Here are their stories:
Sofie
Bekah Constien and her husband, Cody, recently adopted a dog from the Fredericksburg SPCA. They both had wanted a dog for awhile. Instead of getting a puppy, they thought it would be best to give an older dog a home. They immediately went to the Fredericksburg SPCA. When they saw Sofie (at the time her name was Amaretto) they both fell in love! She was the sweetest dog they had ever met. After spending some time with her, they had no hesitation in choosing to adopt her.
Sofie had only been at the SPCA for a little less than a week, but she had been living in a shelter in North Carolina for over a month. Just one day before getting euthanized, the Fredericksburg SPCA rescued Sofie along with four other dogs from the same shelter in North Carolina. Bekah and Cody could not be happier with the new addition to their family. They hope to adopt many more shelter animals in the future and give them the love they so deserve!
Sophie
Stephanie Pruett adopted her cat from the Fredericksburg SPCA. She went to a few different places and met some cats, but did not feel any of them were right for her. When she thought the search was over and began feeling disappointed, she remembered the Fredericksburg SPCA! When Stephanie got to the SPCA, she had a good feeling. She informed the staff that she was looking for a black cat. They told her they had just rescued two cats that were sick, but one was well enough to be adopted… and it was a black cat! Stephanie could not resist this precious kitty! She knew right away this was the one.
At the time, the cat’s name was Tootsie. Stephanie did not think that name was fitting. So, she renamed her Sophie! (No, Stephanie or Bekah did not plan to name their pets the same name. Just coincidence!) Sophie now has a loving family and a forever home where she plays and takes naps whenever she pleases!
Bekah and Stephanie both could not imagine life without their pets! They are part of the family now. Both Sofie and Sophie finally have the loving homes they deserve. If you are thinking about adding a new addition to your family, please consider adopting a dog or cat from the Fredericksburg SPCA.
